Sandia Hairstreak Butterfly

New Mexico’s state butterfly, the Sandia hairstreak (Callophrys mcfarlandi). It’s been an excellent year for them.

A perfect two-tailed swallowtail butterfly at the Botanic Garden (outside the Butterfly Pavilion).

Hummingbird Moth

Not much smaller than a hummingbird, and just as fast; as far as I can tell, they never rest, not even for a moment.
